sevilla - spain
One of my favorite memories of this trip is sitting outside this little cafe with a latte and, what turned out to be a delightful piece of bread, tomato and olive oil (I was unclear what I was ordering :/). Hiding a box of gluten free pastries we had just brought from a bakery down the street, and watching a little slice of life unfold before us.
Children dressed to impress in colorfully elevated play clothes, climbing trees, throwing balls , and sharing candy. Parents sitting around a crowded cafe table, smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee and occasionally calling out to calm the ruckus. Older generations, walking the same boulevard they’ve called home their whole life, complaining about something or other.
A few of my favorite tapas…
If in doubt you can certainly find a fried potato wherever you go, but where is the fun in that?
What I loved about eating in Spain is that there is room to make a mistake! Small plates allow you to try a few different things and order more of what you like.
